Harvest Community Garden

About Us

Harvest Community Garden is a non-profit organization jointly developed by Redeemer Covenant Church and Keep Carrollton Beautiful.

This organization provides a green space for recreation, exercise, horticultural therapy, and food production. We specialize in youth and adult education; providing cultural opportunities, such as cultural exchanges, inter-generational traditions, and access to non-English speaking communities. We increase community ownership and community organization with community-based efforts to deal with social concerns by way of information dissemination through meetings, newsletters, and outdoor classes on topics such as organic gardening, harvesting rainwater, and reducing stress. Lastly, we benefit the community by increasing local efforts to foster the development of a community identity and spirit.  We welcome everyone to join with their neighbors and come visit us. One of our goals is to donating 50% of the garden's crops to a local agency addressing health concerns in the community.

We began Phase 1 of the garden on March 31, 2012 and have 12 beds up and producing.  We are looking forward to completing Phase 1 and planning Phase 2.
Over 200 lbs. of produce and herbs have been harvested and donated as of August 4, 2012.
